Dayton, Ohio – After a fire broke out in Dayton on Sunday afternoon, a garage was completely demolished, and many surrounding homes were also affected.
Crews were sent to the 1500 block of Blairwood Avenue in response to reports of a detached garage fire.
According to Jefferson Township Assistant Fire Chief Gregory Wilcox, the garage was already completely destroyed when firefighters arrived at the site.
According to responding crews, the fire had also spread to nearby garages and residences.
Crews had to disconnect the power to a residence on the site, and the Red Cross was called in to help the family.
Initial reports said that people were trapped within the garage, but it was later determined that the individuals were only attempting to rescue their dog from inside the structure.
There were no reported injuries.
